Mattress Mart makes donation to Marine Corps Toys for Tots program
December 21, 1999 - Mattress Mart, with locations in Battle Creek, Portage and Kalamazoo, recently concluded their participation in the Toys for Tots program by making their own donation from each of their three area locations.

"This is a great way for us to continue our strong community involvement by helping to provide a happy holiday season for local children," said Jeff Scheuer, co-owner of Mattress Mart.  "We serve as a Toys for Tots donation center, but decided that was not enough.  So we came up with the idea to make our own donation to the Toys for Tots program based upon the sales of all Ther-A-Pedic bedding products during November and December.  Near the end of December, we filled up another four barrels of toys for the 10-16 year old age group, which typically falls behind in the number of gifts donated.  The public really responded to our television advertisements featuring Toys for Tots during this period, and in the end the winners were the children of Kalamazoo and Calhoun County.  We wish to thank everyone who made donations not only at our stores, but at locations throughout the area."
