“This is a great way for us to continue our strong community involvement by helping provide a happy holiday season for area children,” said Jeff Scheuer, co-owner of Mattress Mart.  “We wanted to become a Toys for Tots donation center, but decided that alone was not enough.  So we came up with the idea to make our own donation to the Toys for Tots program based upon the sales of all Ther-A-Pedic bedding products during November and December.  As the end of December nears, we will then work with Toys for Tots and use these funds to buy more toys for the 10-16 year old age group, which typically falls behind in the number of gifts donated.  We’ve also produced a new television commercial promoting our involvement with Toys for Tots to help get the word out about this great program.  We’re really happy to be on board.”

Roses for Mattress Mart donating to Families First

September 26, 1998 - Roses to the folks at Mattress Mart for coming through time and time again with beds for our clients.  Mattress Mart’s very generous donations have given many of our women and children much more comfortable sleep accommodations than they would have had otherwise.  We thank them for helping our clients get a better start in their new lives.

Mattress Mart donates five twin sets

August 4, 1998 - Please accept my thanks for your most generous donation of five twin mattresses, boxsprings and fames received on 7/8/98.  It was so wonderful of you to think of SAFE Place for such a contribution.  Your contribution helps to offset the costs of such items which allow us to focus our funds on providing critical supports in our efforts to impact the lives of those who have been victims of domestic violence.

Mattress Mart donates bedding to SAFE Place

June 22, 1998 - Mattress Mart, in conjunction with Ther-A-Pedic Bedding Co., again this year donated more than $1,500 worth of new bedding to SAFE Place for use in its domestic violence shelter and its transitional housing program.

“We are very proud and excited to be making this latest donation to SAFE Place,’ said Jeff Scheuer, co-owner of Mattress Mart.   “Even though we are one of the largest sleep shops in Michigan, we still maintain a strong local presence, and we can’t think of a better way to do so than continuing our involvement with SAFE Place.  It’s a way for us to give back to the community which has helped make Mattress Mart successful.”

Mattress Mart donates to SAFE Place

April 21, 2997 - I am writing on behalf of everyone at SAFE Place; clients and staff alike.  I greatly appreciate all the kind and generous thing you have done for the benefit of SAFE Place.  More specifically I appreciate your company’s recent collaboration with Ther-A-Pedic Bedding in donating ten twin size beds with frames.  It was especially generous that Mattress Mart delivered all those mattress sets to each destination.  I would like you to know that those mattresses were put to great use; going to residents of the shelter moving into new homesteads, as well as participants in our Transitional Housing and Families First Programs who were doing the same.

Once again, thank you so much for being a part of the efforts to make our community a better place to live.  We appreciate your thoughtfulness and willingness to share so generously with the individuals we are privileged to serve.

Companies contribute bedding to SAFE Place

February, 1996 - Mattress Mart, in conjunction with the Ther-A-Pedic Bedding Co., recently presented SAFE Place with more than $3,500 worth of new bedding to be used in SAFE Place’s domestic violence shelter and transitional housing program.

The donation of 10 twin bed sets and frames is the latest in a line of contributions which Mattress Mart has made to SAFE Place.

“We are very excited about this offering,” said Jeff Scheuer, co-owner of Mattress Mart.  “By combining forces with the Ther-A-Pedic Bedding Co., we are able to make a substantial donation to SAFE Place during the holiday season.  It’s a way for us to give back to the community.”
