Mattress Closeouts & Floor Model Deals
Why Is It Discounted?
There are many reasons an item may appear on this page. It might be a showroom floor model, a canceled order, a display-size change, an outgoing model, or simply something we need to move to make room on the showroom floor.
It may also be a mattress that is being changed or refreshed by the manufacturer. Mattress companies regularly make running changes to their products. A model may receive a new cover, a different foam or fabric, an updated component, a revised construction, new quilting, or simply a new model name. Sometimes the changes are substantial; sometimes they are little more than cosmetic. When that happens, the previous version may become a closeout even though it is still new, current-quality merchandise.
Being listed here does not automatically mean an item is damaged, previously owned or discontinued.
Occasionally, a mattress may also have a minor manufacturing defect or irregularity. A tufting component might be the wrong size, a seam might not look quite right, a cover may have a cosmetic flaw, or some other detail may not meet the manufacturer’s normal finished-product standards. That does not necessarily make it a bad mattress or an unsuitable sleep surface. Sometimes something can be not quite right without being bad.
When an irregularity does not compromise the mattress as a comfortable, supportive and usable sleep surface, the manufacturer may offer us an allowance to keep it rather than ship it back—or allow an otherwise useful mattress to become unnecessary waste. We can then pass that savings along by selling it at a substantial discount, with the known irregularity clearly disclosed.
Mattresses, foundations and adjustable bases also have an unfortunate habit of being large, awkward and sometimes remarkably heavy. They have to be moved through factories, warehouses and showrooms; on and off trucks; across driveways and yards; and through homes with an endless variety of stairs, doorways and tight corners. Handle them as carefully as we can, occasionally something still picks up a scuff, fabric blemish, stitching issue or other minor damage along the way. It is rare, but it unfortunately still happens.
Each individual listing explains why that particular item is discounted, whether it is new or a floor model, and any known condition issue. Some are simply one-of-a-kind opportunities to save on perfectly good merchandise. Others are priced according to a clearly disclosed imperfection.
