The baselogic® Gold Adjustable Base is where the lineup becomes genuinely full-featured.

You still get independent head and foot adjustment, Zero-Gravity and one-touch Flat, but Gold adds the convenience features people tend to use every day: massage, USB-A and USB-C charging ports, underbed lighting and three programmable memory positions.

Those memory buttons are particularly useful. Instead of finding your favorite reading or lounging position every night, adjust the base once, save it, and return to it with a button.

Gold’s massage system provides adjustable massage intensity and selectable timed sessions. The current Ergomotion manual shows separate head and foot massage controls with three intensity levels and 10-, 20- or 30-minute timer options.

Gold is also the interesting model for couples because split-head versions are available. With a compatible split-head mattress, each sleeper can independently adjust the upper portion of his or her side while retaining a more conventional shared-mattress arrangement below.

Our take: Gold is probably the sweet spot of the baselogic lineup. You’re getting the convenience features that materially change how you use an adjustable base without moving all the way into lumbar adjustment or Platinum’s premium electronics.
