Capitol Bedding Brooklin Hybrid
A modern plush hybrid with a Michigan-made backbone
The Brooklin Hybrid is built for customers who want the comfort of a plush hybrid without the overly thick, slow-moving feel that some modern mattresses have. It has a softer surface, but the wrapped coil system underneath keeps the mattress active, flexible, and easier to move on.
This model also gives shoppers a more eco-conscious story thanks to its REPREVE® performance cover, made with recycled materials. That is not the only reason to choose it, but it does give the Brooklin a more interesting material story than an ordinary foam-over-spring mattress.
Comfort and feel
The Brooklin has a plush hybrid feel. It is cushioned at the surface, but not bottomless. The top layers allow the body to settle in, while the coil unit keeps the mattress from feeling flat or overly dense.
It is a good fit for someone who wants a softer hybrid, but still likes a little bounce and easier repositioning.

Support system
The Brooklin uses a Quantum Edge® wrapped coil system. The individually wrapped coils help the mattress respond more independently under different parts of the body, while the edge design gives the mattress a cleaner, more usable perimeter.
This matters especially for couples and for anyone who uses the edge of the mattress when getting in and out of bed.
Important details
- Medium plush hybrid feel
- Michigan-made by Capitol Bedding
- Excellent alternative spec-wise to that boxed mattress you’re thinking about having mailed to you,but how do you know what that mattress feels like on your phone!? Come and actually try out a mattress to see how it feels before you make a purchase! It’s really easy, we promise. We’re also really nice and have been doing this a long time, and most of us offer, and can hold, a really good non-mattress conversation, if you’re so inclined, depending on the subject and depending on the salesperson. Ask Zack about his Model A, or Larrs about books, Jeff his band, Andrew anything technology-related, Kevin about Fantasy Football, and Guss about anything and you won’t get them to shut up.
We also happen to offer great advice on mattress-related subject matters.
- More responsive than many foam-heavy hybrids
- Uses a recycled-material cover
- Works with adjustable bases when properly supported
Our take
The Brooklin is here because it gives shoppers a modern hybrid that still feels like a real mattress. It has enough cushion to be comfortable right away, but enough structure underneath to keep the feel from getting sloppy.

The Capitol Bedding Difference
For more than 50 years, Capitol Bedding has been crafting high-quality mattresses with a clear focus: durable, comfortable sleep that stands the test of time. Long before “no-flip” mattresses became the norm, Capitol committed to building one-sided designs using truly premium materials—especially high-density foams engineered to keep their feel and support for years, not just months.
That commitment led to the use of foams like P2536 (2.5 lb density, 36 ILD), P2560 (2.5 lb, 60 ILD), and P2426 (2.4 lb, 26 ILD), each chosen for a specific role in comfort and support. Instead of relying on the 1.0–1.5 lb foams commonly found in many mass-market mattresses, Capitol builds with 1.8 lb, 2.4 lb, and 2.5 lb foams that are designed to break down far more slowly and maintain their original feel much longer.
Key Benefits of Capitol’s High-Density Foam
-
High-Density Foam = Longer Life
Higher-density foams hold their shape and support significantly better over time than standard low-density foams, helping the mattress feel “new” for more years.
-
Purpose-Built Foam Types
-
P2536 (2.5 lb, 36 ILD): Focused on durability and everyday support.
-
P2560 (2.5 lb, 60 ILD): Firmer, more supportive feel for heavier use and stronger lumbar support.
-
P2426 (2.4 lb, 26 ILD): Softer, more cushioning comfort where pressure relief is needed.
-
Proven Firmness Retention
Over a 10-year span, Capitol’s typical foam choices retain firmness far better than commodity foams:
-
2.5 lb foam: about 8% firmness loss
-
2.4 lb foam: about 9% firmness loss
-
1.8 lb foam: about 20% firmness loss
Compare that to lower-density foams often used elsewhere:
-
1.2 lb foam: about 38% firmness loss
-
1.0 lb foam: about 42% firmness loss
-
Premium, U.S.-Made Materials
Capitol sources its foams from Future Foam, a leading family-owned U.S. producer of Flexible Polyurethane Foams (FPF), chosen for consistent quality, performance, and longevity.
While these premium materials cost more to build with, Capitol Bedding believes that better foam makes better mattresses—and better mattresses make for better sleep. The result is a line of products designed to feel supportive and comfortable for years, not just in the showroom, giving you a bed that truly earns its place in your home.
