A plush Capitol mattress with an even stronger build
The Fezzik HD Comfort Plush fills an important role in our showroom because it proves something we think mattress shoppers should understand: durable does not have to mean firm.
After seeing the response to the heavy-duty mattresses we carry from Therapedic, Capitol approached us about developing a Mattress Mart-specific mattress for customers looking for that same general idea—more substantial materials and a stronger overall build—but with Capitol’s own components, construction and feel.
The Fezzik is not Capitol’s version of a Therapedic mattress. It is very much a Capitol mattress. But it was designed around a similar customer need: someone who wants a bed built with better-than-average materials and doesn’t necessarily want to sleep on something firm.
The result is a comfort-plush mattress using high-density gel foam, a substantial 3-inch layer of 2.5 lb / 36 ILD foam, a Quantum Edge® coil unit, and high-density base foam.
Comfort and feel
The Fezzik has a comfort-plush feel. It is forgiving and comfortable on top without feeling thin, airy or weak underneath.
It is softer than many mattresses marketed toward durability-conscious or heavier sleepers, but there is considerably more substance behind the softness than you typically find in an ordinary value-priced plush mattress.

Support system
The Fezzik uses a Quantum Edge® individually wrapped coil system. The coils provide a responsive, conforming support system, while the reinforced perimeter helps the mattress feel more stable from side to side and provides a firmer seating edge.
That extra stability is particularly important in a plush mattress. It helps keep the Fezzik from feeling like a soft comfort package sitting on top of an undersized support system.

Our take
The Fezzik is one of the best examples of how we think a mattress should be chosen. The right mattress has to give you the features you want, the feel you want, and a price somewhere around where you would like to be. All three matter.
The Fezzik checks those boxes unusually well. It uses some of the better materials we see in a plush mattress, has a feel that appeals to a very wide range of sleepers, and does it at a price that is pretty tough to beat once you start comparing what is actually inside other mattresses.
And we know you’re comparing. We encourage it.
That is one reason we publish as much construction information as we can for every mattress we sell. Unfortunately, getting meaningful specifications from mattress manufacturers is not always easy. Some provide little beyond the same generic descriptions available everywhere else.
Capitol is different. They are proud of the densities and specifications of the materials they use, and they are unusually willing to tell us—and you—exactly what is inside the mattress.
