A plush pillowtop mattress built with heavy-duty support underneath
The TheraLuxe HD ICE Everest Pillowtop is the plush, pressure-relieving model in the HD ICE lineup. It is designed for customers who want a softer, more luxurious pillowtop feel without some of the common weaknesses of softer mattresses: early body impressions, weak edges and inadequate support for heavier sleepers.
This is the HD mattress for people who want comfort first, but still need durability to matter.
Comfort and feel
The Everest has a plush, dense pillowtop feel. It is softer than the Whitney and provides more pressure relief at the shoulders and hips. The surface is cushiony and more enveloping, but the same HD support system underneath keeps the mattress stable and supportive rather than allowing the sleeper to sink excessively into the comfort layers.
Best for
- Side sleepers
- Plush-bed shoppers
- Larger or heavier sleepers who prefer a soft mattress
- Customers who want pressure relief but still need support
- People who like a luxury hotel-style pillowtop feel
- Shoppers who have had soft mattresses break down too quickly
Comfort materials
The Everest uses a plusher comfort package than the Whitney. The current product page lists an XtraCool® cooling stretch-knit cover, high-density quilt foam, HyPurGel® plush foam, plush natural latex, and a NanoCoil® micro-coil layer.
This combination gives the Everest its pressure-relieving top while still using materials designed to hold up better than typical low-density plush foam.
Heavy-duty support system
Under the pillowtop comfort package, the Everest uses the TheraLuxe QLX® HD wrapped coil unit. In queen size, the mattress uses 1,872 17-gauge Quantum encased coils for deep support, motion separation, and long-term stability.
Edge support and foundation
The Everest uses a reinforced TheraEdge™ foam encasement with 3 inches of 50-lb density compression foam around the spring unit. For best long-term support, it can be paired with the TheraLuxe HD reinforced wood foundation or a suitable adjustable base.

Our final take
The Everest is one of the best examples of why firmness and durability are not the same thing. It is softer, but more like a ‘dense soft’ than a fluffy soft. For the customer who wants a plush pillowtop feel and has been disappointed by soft beds wearing out too soon, the Everest is exactly the type of mattress we want on the floor.
