Therapedic TheraLuxe HD ICE Whitney Luxury Firm

Feel: Luxury firm / cushion firm HD

Best for: Larger sleepers, hot sleepers, back sleepers, and people who want firm support with a more refined firm feel rather than just “hard.”

Why we show this mattress:
We show the Whitney because it is the more refined “firm” option in the HD lineup. It has the support and durability customers expect from the HD lineup, but the feel is more finished than a basic “hard” mattress. It is a strong choice for someone who wants firmness, cooling, responsiveness, and better comfort materials in the same firm bed.

Therapedic TheraLuxe HD ICE Whitney Luxury Firm

Heavy-duty support with a cooler, more refined luxury-firm feel

The TheraLuxe HD ICE Whitney Luxury Firm is the firmer model in the HD ICE lineup. It takes the heavy-duty coil and edge-support story from the HD collection and adds a cooler cover, natural latex, and a NanoCoil® micro-coil layer for a denser, more breathable and responsive feel at the surface.

The Whitney is for customers who want firm support and a firmer feel, but do not want the mattress to feel “basic”, flat, or overly hard.

Comfort and feel

The Whitney has a luxury-firm feel. The latex and micro-coils give the surface a more buoyant, responsive feel than the Jackson, with a small amount of cushioning at the top while still retaining its firmer character.

It is a good fit for back sleepers, combination sleepers, hot sleepers, larger sleepers, and anyone who wants a firmer HD mattress with more and higher-end comfort materials inside.

Best for

  • Back sleepers
  • Combination sleepers
  • Larger or heavier sleepers
  • Hot sleepers
  • Customers who want firm support without a rock-hard surface
  • Shoppers who want HD construction with latex, micro-coils, and cooling
  • People who want durability but still want a premium feel

Heavy-duty support system

The Whitney uses the TheraLuxe QLX® HD pocketed coil core, with 1,872 17-gauge coils in queen size. This heavy-duty spring system gives the mattress deep support, better motion separation, and a more stable feel than many standard coil units.

Comfort materials

The Whitney adds a 2-inch layer of GOLS-certified natural Dunlop latex and a NanoCoil® micro-coil layer. Latex adds resilience, responsiveness, and durability, while the micro-coils improve airflow and give the mattress a more adaptive comfort feel.

This combination helps the Whitney feel firm, but not dead or board-like.

Edge support and cooling

The Whitney uses a 3-inch TheraEdge™ foam encasement made from 50-lb compression foam around the perimeter of the spring unit. The XtraCool® stretch-knit cover helps the mattress surface feel cooler and more temperature-conscious than a standard firm mattress.

What makes this heavy duty?

  • Luxury firm HD ICE feel
  • XtraCool® cooling stretch-knit cover
  • TheraSafe™ fire barrier
  • 2″ High-density quilt foams (2.1lb)

Our final take

The Whitney is for the customer who likes the HD durability but wants a more finished, higher-performance firm mattress. It gives you extra strong springs underneath, a cooling cover, latex responsiveness and breathability and reliability, micro-coils for longevity and airflow, strong edges to sit on or not roll off from. There is a lot to love about this bed.
